Strife, war, world conflict, the cruel sound of DISUNION…
White, Black, Yellow, Red, the inevitable shout of DIFFERENCE…
Labor classes, capitalists, aristocracy, the desperate cry of DISPARITY…
Christian, Muslim, Druze, Hindu, Buddhist, the ultimate blow for DISUNITY…
YET, God says: You are ONE and are meant to become ONE!
… ONE???
Yes, ONE in the image of our Divine Maker, beyond our physical and individual characteristics:
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. (Genesis 1:27)
Unfortunately, ONE in our sinfulness, whether we broke one or all of God’s commandments.
God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that does good, no, not one. (Psalm 53:2-3)
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Indeed, ONE in our need for God’s grace and salvation, no matter how “good” and “righteous” we try to be.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
And, ONE in our being the privileged object of God’s unfailing love, although we sometimes can hardly stand ourselves.
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Jeremiah 31:3)
Thus, ONE in having to acknowledge the one and only way to God, discarding any other path we think might save us.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
And meant to become ONE???
ONE, as newborn children of God by faith in Jesus the Savior, regardless of our racial, social and religious background.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:16)
ONE, as members of the body of Christ and his servants, despite the diversity of gifts He has bestowed upon us.
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (Romans 12:5)
And, ONE, as future citizens of the new heavens!!!
He (God) will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3)
